Meet Patrick Chan: Why the Conversation Is Expanding Beyond Skincare

Meet Patrick Chan: Why the Conversation Is Expanding Beyond Skincare

For nearly 50 years, LING Skincare has believed that beauty is about more than what we see in the mirror.

Founded by Ling Chan in 1976, LING was built on the philosophy that healthy, radiant skin begins with thoughtful care, consistency, and treating every client as a whole person—not just their skin.

Today, that philosophy continues through Patrick Chan, CEO of LING Skincare and a certified SOMA Breathwork Instructor.

Inspired by a Legacy

Growing up, Patrick watched his mother, Ling Chan, dedicate her life to helping people feel confident in their own skin. She believed that every facial was more than a treatment—it was an opportunity to care for someone, restore their confidence, and remind them to slow down and care for themselves.

As Patrick later walked alongside his mother through one of life's most difficult seasons, he gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of our health and wellbeing.

It became a reminder that while skincare is an important act of self-care, true wellness asks something even greater of us.

To slow down.

To breathe.

To be present.

And to love and care for ourselves—not only on the outside, but from within.

That experience inspired Patrick to explore nervous system regulation, breathwork, and the powerful connection between our inner wellbeing and outer beauty.

Discovering the Power of the Breath

Those questions eventually led Patrick to the study of breathwork and nervous system regulation.

Through years of learning and personal practice, he discovered something remarkable:

The way we breathe affects far more than our lungs.

It influences our energy, our stress levels, our ability to recover, and how we experience daily life.

When the nervous system is constantly overwhelmed, the effects can be felt throughout the body—including the skin.

While skincare remains an important part of self-care, Patrick came to believe it is only one piece of a much larger picture.

Introducing The Nervous System Beauty Coach Podcast

Over the years, Patrick has come to believe that many of the challenges we face—stress, burnout, poor sleep, and emotional overwhelm—can influence not only how we feel, but also how we look.

Healthy skin doesn't exist in isolation.

It's connected to how we breathe, how we recover, how we manage stress, and how we care for ourselves each day.

That realization inspired The Nervous System Beauty Coach Weekly Email & Podcast.

Each week, Patrick will share practical insights, conversations, and simple tools to help you better understand the connection between skin, body, and mind.

Topics will include:

  • Nervous system regulation
  • Breathwork and mindful breathing
  • Managing everyday stress
  • Holistic wellness
  • Healthy aging and longevity
  • Beauty from within

Whether it's a breathing exercise, a conversation with a wellness expert, or lessons learned through decades in the skincare industry, every edition is designed to help you feel more balanced, more resilient, and more connected to yourself.

A New Chapter

At LING, we believe beauty is more than skin deep.

It's found in how we care for ourselves, how we manage stress, how we nurture our wellbeing, and how we show up for ourselves every day.

Through The Nervous System Beauty Coach Podcast, Patrick hopes to share the lessons he's learned and continue a conversation that his mother began decades ago: one that sees beauty and wellness as inseparable.

Because caring for your skin is only part of the story.

And the conversation doesn't stop at skincare.
